Your library will soon play host to a fun and exciting collection of free community lectures, workshops, classes, certificate programs and family enrichment events as part of a new Centralia Community Education Program.
Have you ever wanted to learn to play the guitar, make your own jewelry, fly a drone, take better smartphone photos or bass fish like a professional? Or does your small business need marketing help, classes on social media, website design or search engine optimization? Or would you like to join other families or groups in our special photography outings, fishing tournaments, radio controlled racing challenges or just hang-out under-the-stars for movie night? Well, thanks to a groundbreaking new partnership between some of the most forward-thinking libraries throughout Southern Illinois, those options and more are coming soon.
Now, the best part is that all of these opportunities, every single one of them, everything from the one-hour photography class to the six-hour, fully-immersive small business certificate program is free. It’s all part of our collective mission as libraries, to give our communities what they need, when and where they need it most. Events will be held during the week and weekends, in the morning, afternoon and evenings, in the library and in the field. Library patrons can take this amazing classes at any participating library. Currently partnered city libraries include Belleville, Glen Carbon, Carlyle, and Centralia.
