World Book Night
World Book Night is an annual celebration designed to spread a love of reading and books. To be held in the U.S. as well as the U.K. and Ireland on April 23, 2012. It will see tens of thousands of people go out into their communities to spread the joy and love of reading by giving out free World Book Night paperbacks.
Saturday Computer Classes
Register at Main Library. Must have CRLD library card and Illinois ID or DL. All classes are basic introductory level classes except for Word 2007 Advanced. All classes are free.
Friends of Library Giving Away NOOK™ Readers
Contest ended Friday September 30. Drawing will be held on Thursday, October 6th.
FREE computer classes @ your library®
CRLD will be offering basic computer classes at the Main Library starting in October. Register at the Main Library reference desk starting September 19th. CRLD library card and either an Illinois driver's license or state ID are required. Pre-registration required for all classes.
Illinois Heartland Library System
On July 1, 2011 the nine library systems in Illinois merged into two systems. Centralia Regional Library District, a member of the Shawnee Library System, is now a member of the Illinois Heartland Library System. The Illinois Heartland Library System covers 28,141 square miles. There are 594 member libraries: 38 Academic, 231 Public, 260 School and 65 Special.

Preschool Circle Time @ Main Library
Circle Time is for children, 5 years old and younger, and their parent/guardian(s); and will include stories, music, crafts, or discovery time. Advance registration is not required for this program.
