SUMMARY:Teen Reading Club
DESCRIPTION:Join Centralia Regional Library’s reading club for ages 12-17! \nThis club is a laid-back\, bring-your-own-reading-content type\, with snacks and activities/games. There is no required reading\, but a theme with a matching book display in the Teen Room will be selected each month for guidance. It’s alright if you don’t read a book–all reading is welcome here\, so tell us any kind of story you’ve read. It can be from a game\, a movie\, a news article\, fanfiction–whatever! \nAnd the more meetings you attend\, the more entries you’ll get into a prize giveaway at the end of the year! \nCurrently\, meetings are from 2PM to 3:30PM on the first Saturday each month in the 2nd floor Teen Room (elevator accessible).

DESCRIPTION:Get a taste for reading with Centralia Regional Library’s book club for ages 7-11! \nIn this interactive club\, kids will sit down at a place mat where they will be treated to the first chapter of a book on their plate. If they like the book\, they may check it out and take it home. If they want to sample another book\, they will trade places with another attendee to read the first chapter of their book\, until everyone goes home with a book they like! \nThis book club is a fun way to get into reading for even the most stubborn of readers. There is no registration required to join\, but a library card is needed to check a book out. \nBook Bites will meet the 4th Monday of each month at 4pm\, unless of a holiday or other closure. It will be in the 2nd floor Teen Room\, accessible by elevator and stairs.

DESCRIPTION:Local author Queen K. Hatchett returns to the Library with an all-new book\, Categories of Women in the Bible (And Their Stories)! \nThis new book is about how the stories of women in the Bible have been the subject of intense analysis\, dissection\, and discussion\, sometimes leading to misinterpretations. In many cases\, the times in which these women lived offered them little or no autonomy. This book provides impactful narratives about biblical women and their journeys of pain\, struggle\, rejection\, courage\, victory\, and fulfillment. Readers will also learn how Jesus\, with his unwavering support\, love\, and compassion\, offered many women reassurance\, affirmation\, and comfort —a message that still resonates today. \nBring your copies of her books to sign or support this local author by buying a book at the signing! \nQueen Kirkwood-Hatchett discovered her gift to write as a young adult\, recovering from childhood trauma. Her first publication\, “From the Heart” (Hodale Press)\, opened many doors for her. She has self-published her other works\, “A General Study of the Books of the Bible\, Transitioning from Promise to Fulfillment”\, and memoir “Survival of the Inner Man.” as well as “Categories of Women in the Bible (And Their Stories)”. She holds a MS in Criminal Justice (Capella University) and a MA in in Theological Studies with a Graduate Certificate in Worship (Liberty University). Above all\, her relationship with Jesus Christ has helped to bring her to a place of healing.
