Dr. Grandin has been at the forefront of research and activism for autism and neurodiversity for decades. \nHer memoir\, Emergence: Labeled Autistic\, was published in 1986 and she has continued to write about autism and neurodivergence over the decades. Her most recent book is Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think in Pictures\, Patterns\, and Abstractions. \nDr. Grandin’s research and understanding of animal behavior spearheaded a reform in the quality of life for agricultural animals worldwide. \nIf you cannot attend the live event\, go ahead and register. A recording will be sent to you to view for a limited time. SUMMARY:Teen Reading Club
DESCRIPTION:Join Centralia Regional Library District’s Reading Club for teens (ages 12-18)!  \nThis club is a laid-back\, bring-your-own-reading-content type\, with snacks and activities/games. There is no required reading\, but suggestions are always given for guidance. Reading doesn’t even have to be from a book\, but if you are reading a book\, it doesn’t have to be a traditional\, physical novel–it can be an eBook or audiobook. All reading is welcome here\, be it magazines\, fanfiction\, video game dialog\, shampoo bottle labels… whatever you like to read\, we’ll talk about it! \nAnd starting January 2024\, the more meetings you attend\, the more entries you’ll get into a prize giveaway at the end of the year! Currently\, meetings are from 2PM to 3:30PM on a Saturday each month in the upstairs Teen Room (accessible by elevator and stairs).
