September is Library Card Sign-up Month and Centralia Regional Library District is joining the American Library Association (ALA) and libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card.
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, the ALA and libraries work together in a national effort to ensure every child signs up for their own library card.
From September 1 to September 30, everyone gets a free gift and entered into one of three prize packs if they do any of the following at Centralia Regional Library District:
– Get their first library card.
– Checks their library card account with the front desk to make sure it’s up to date.
– Replaces their library card. (Replacement cards are FREE the entire month!)
Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when doing any of the above.
