Sir Gregory Groundhog of Essex County is a delightful story of creation and faith. Readers will fall in love with this whimsical creature who is comical, and he is determined to enjoy the produce of the season. As his story unfolds, we see that he is talented and entertaining with his wit and charm. Readers will soon realize that Sir Gregory is no ordinary groundhog. His personal discussions with himself display his intellect and the purpose of his existence. Sir Gregory reflects on what is important. Sir Gregory has conviction and faith. Shelia T. Cisco is an educator, nurse, and professional counselor in the state of Illinois. She is the daughter of a pastor, Dr. Johnnie B. Wilson, who went home to be with the Lord in 1976. She has been involved in small-group ministry for the past forty years. Mrs. Cisco’s passions are cooking, baking, gardening, and recycling. She is a visionary and an intercessor. Her special interests are singing and performing as a mezzo-soprano. She is married to her husband, the Rev. Washington Dixon Cisco, who shares her vision for counseling and reaching the lost. She is the mother of three daughters, a daughter by marriage, and a son-in-law. She shares her love of storytelling with the young and old. Her previous works include a book of poetry, Of Visions and Dreams for Her Daughters, published by Dorrance Company in 2021. This book is available to check out from the Library’s catalog.
Mrs. Cisco will be in the 2nd floor Monken Activity Room (accessible by elevator) on Saturday, October 14, from 11AM to 12:30PM, to read and sign her book.
