For our February 2023 book club meeting for adults, we will be reading A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman.
A grumpy yet lovable man finds his solitary world turned on its head when a boisterous young family moves in next door.
This book inspired the Tom Hanks movie A Man Called Otto. There is also a 2016 movie.
Our meeting will be on Tuesday, February 28 from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Library’s Reading Room. This meeting will be informal and there will be goodies for newcomers and a chance to discuss books we would like to read for future meetings. We will open the front door to Book Club members starting at 6:15 p.m. If the door is locked, please knock and we’ll let you in. You must have a completed member form on file to be permitted in the building.
Reading should be done before the meeting so we can discuss the book, but you do not have to finish the book or even read it! If you prefer a digital or audio format, check our digital collections found at the top of this page for a copy. You’re also welcome to watch the movies.
If you are interested in becoming a Book Club member, please fill out our member form. You do not need to be a member of our library to join our book club, but if you are and would like for us to put the book on hold for you, be sure to include your library card number. You do not need to come to every meeting to retain membership. Once you’ve signed up, join our Facebook Group to get member-only content like polls about what we read!
We’ll see you February 28!
