Plant a seed, read this summer!

It’s Summer Reading time! Registration for all ages (including adults!) will be in person starting June 1. We are not doing registration online or over the phone. Reading challenges will be completed using paper logs received at registration.

Prizes

Everyone who completes the reading log in any age category will receive a free book as a prize to take home. The first 50 children that complete their log will receive a Monical’s Pizza coupon! All teens and adults who complete their log will be entered into special grand prize giveaways at the end of the challenge: a reusable tote bag, fidget spinner earbuds, and a fidget keyboard keychain that doubles as a phone stand for teens, and a reusable mesh market bag, mini garden tool set, and a farm to table apron for adults.

Please note: Reading done before June 1 does not count toward the Summer Reading challenge. Reading logs must be returned by August 7th for prizes.

But that’s not all–we have events and activities planned all summer long! Library events and activities are free and do not require registration or a library card to participate, unless otherwise noted.

Monthly Events

Kick-off

We’ll be kicking off the summer with a party for all ages in the Library Park on June 4, 2-3pm, featuring a fire truck from the Centralia Fire Department, a John Deere tractor from the Reichmann Brothers, a show and tell from the Centralia High School FFA, and tons of carnival games with prizes! This is a chance for kids to get up close with a real fire truck, tractor, and farm animals.

Word of the Week: Every week from June 1 to July 31, a new word will appear on the sidewalks surrounding the Library. Find the correct word to win a prize from the Youth Staff upstairs!
